The Organizer
The Festival is the ‘brain-child’ of Mr. Julian M.G. Bowen (JP). Julian is the Director of Music and Organist of the St. Peter’s Parish Church, and has been the Director of the BarclaySingers of Barbados for over 20 years. He serves as the Dean of the Barbados Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He is the Director of the National State Choir and Director of the Anglican Diocesan Choir.

Julian established the Julian Bowen School of Music and Performing Arts in 2014. He is also a Calypso Judge and has judged the Pic’O De Crop competition, The Junior Monarch and National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA). Apart from his outstanding career in music, Julian is the Owner and Managing Director of Partners Insurance Agent Inc. 
ABOUT
The vision for the Festival is to create a platform for local classical musicians and to highlight their under-recognized talents. The Festival will seek to stimulate avenues for educational development within the local classical music curriculum and provide practical forums for development and training through workshops. The long-term vision is to establish an annual Classical Music Festival which will see Barbados as a major classical music hub in the Caribbean, being known as the place in the Caribbean for classical music and performances.

It is through committed partnership as a genesis to create a strong platform for the development of the music industry, provide an avenue for increased tourism opportunities by showcasing Barbados’ talents across the world and setting the pace for even bigger successes within the upcoming years.
